Description

Following an object being caught on the overhead wires between Wolverhampton and Sandwell & Dudley, all lines have now reopened. Whilst service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes, diverted or revised.

Disruption is expected until 13:00.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • Avanti West Coast services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but coaches B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

  • Alternate West Midlands Railway services between:

    • Birmingham Snow Hill / Moor Street - Smethwick Galton Bridge (Please note: Smethwick Rolfe Street is an 10-15 minute distance from Smethwick Galton Bridge station)

  • Mutual ticket acceptance is in place with Avanti West Coast between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton

  • West Midlands Metro between Birmingham (Grand Central, adjacent to Birmingham New Street station) - West Bromwich Central - Wolverhampton (St. Georges, 10 minutes from railway station). Change at West Bromwich Central for bus route 4, 4H, 4M to / from Sandwell & Dudley station

  • National Express West Midlands:

    • Bus Route 4 / 4H / 4M: Walsall - Tame Bridge Parkway - West Bromwich (for West Midlands Metro) - Oldbury - Blackheath - Sandwell & Dudley - Rowley Regis - Cradley Heath

    • Bus Route 12 / 12A: Birmingham - Langley Green - Dudley

    • Bus Route 42: Tipton - Dudley Port (nearby)

    • Bus Route 69: Walsall - Wolverhampton

    • Bus Route 74: Birmingham - West Bromwich - Dudley Port - Dudley

    • Bus Route 80: Birmingham - Five Ways - Smethwick Galton Bridge - West Bromwich
