Lines reopened: disruption between Leeds and York / Selby expected until the end of the day

TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street and Hull / Newcastle, between Manchester Airport and Hull / Redcar Central / Saltburn, and also between Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Victoria and Scarborough

Description

The emergency services have completed their work following an incident between Leeds and Church Fenton / South Milford, allowing all lines to reopen.

Trains between Leeds and York / Selby may still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes whilst normal service resumes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

CrossCountry customer advice:

If your train is cancelled then your existing ticket will be accepted at no extra cost up to two hours before or two hours after your cancelled train on all train operators, with the exception of East Midlands Railway, Grand Central, Hull Trains, Lumo, ScotRail, Transport for London and Transport for Wales.

Train services are now able to run between Leeds and York / Selby (in both directions). However, whilst the service recovers, trains may be subject to cancellations and delays.

What should I do?

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

You can also travel on the following train operators and routes at no extra cost:

• Alternative Northern services between Leeds and York via Harrogate

• TransPennine Express services between Leeds and Hull - please note that TransPennine Express are also affected by this incident and will be diverting services between Leeds and Hull via Castleford

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
