Description

Lines have reopened following an earlier fault with the signalling system between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. Trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed or revised as service returns to normal.

Disruption is expected until 16:30.

What's happened?

There was a signalling problem near Crowhurst, and the lines were blocked while response staff carried out an inspection of the track to check for any damage. No damage has been found and the lines have reopened, although the signalling problem near Crowhurst is still ongoing.

How does this affect my journey?

Trains were unable to run between Battle and Hastings and services on the Hastings line have been delayed by over an hour. Disruption is likely until at least 16:30 while we work to return trains to normal.

Some trains may not run their full route, and you may need to change trains to complete your journey.

  • Southern between Hastings and Ashford International for connections to Tonbridge, London Bridge, London Charing Cross and London St Pancras International

  • Arriva Buses Kent routes 7 / 281 /402 between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge

  • Stagecoach Buses route 1066 between Hastings and Tunbridge Wells

We have also arranged for a limited replacement bus service to run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. The first buses are now running.
