Between Grays and London Fenchurch Street

Description

A safety inspection of the track between Rainham and Dagenham Dock means that the London-bound line is blocked. As a result, trains running between Grays and Barking may be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 15:15.

Customer advice:

How Does This Affect My Journey?

Trains from Grays towards London Fenchurch Street via Rainham (Essex) will not call at Purfleet, Rainham (Essex) or Dagenham Dock.

If you are travelling to London stations, please take a train to Grays and change there for trains towards London Fenchurch Street.

A limited rail replacement bus service will also run between Grays and Upminster in both directions, calling at Purfleet and Rainham (Essex).

We will provide more specific information, including expected delays and any alternative travel arrangements, as soon as possible.

If alternative travel is introduced, your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost. If you need to travel from a different station because of the disruption, your existing ticket can also be used for your return journey to that station.

What Should I Do?

Please check before you travel and allow extra time for your journey. If your journey is significantly delayed or cancelled, you may wish to travel later when services are running more normally.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on London Buses between Barking and Lakeside. This arrangement will remain in place until further notice. Don’t worry, once you have started your journey using buses, your ticket will remain valid for the duration of your journey.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
