Description

A fault with the signalling system between Darlington and Northallerton means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Newcastle and York may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Northern services from Bishop Auckland that run through Darlington towards Middlesbrough are not affected by this disruption.

Major disruption is expected to continue until 15:00.

Between Darlington and York / Leeds:

  • Northern services between Darlington and Middlesbrough, changing there for TransPennine Express services between Middlesbrough and York / Leeds

You may also use your ticket on the following services and routes:

  • Avanti West Coast services between Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street

  • LNER services between Edinburgh and Doncaster

  • Northern services calling at York, Leeds, Doncaster or Sheffield

  • TransPennine Express services between Doncaster and Sheffield

If your CrossCountry train is cancelled, then you can use your ticket on the two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after your cancelled service
