Description

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding between Bolton and Blackburn, meaning that all lines are blocked. As a result trains are unable to run between these stations.

Disruption is expected until approximately 20:30.

Network Rail engineers are enroute to the area.

Customer advice:

Train services are affected in both directions on the following route:

  • Rochdale to Blackburn / Clitheroe (both directions) - where possible will divert and will not call at stations between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn

To help you complete your journey, replacement road transport has been provided:

  • Departing Bolton at 18:30 / 19:30 / 20:20 to Clitheroe calling at Hall I' Th' Wood, Bromley Cross, Darwen, Blackburn, Ramsgrave & Wilpshire, Langho, Whalley and Clitheroe

  • Departing Clitheroe at 18:30 / 19:30 / 20:30 to Bolton calling at Whalley, Langho, Ramsgreave & Wilpshire, Blackburn, Darwen, Bromley Cross, Hall I' Th' Wood, and Bolton

Passengers travelling to / from Entwistle are advised to use the help point on the platform at Entwistle station or contact Northern Customer Services on 0800 2006060 to arrange alternative transport.

Journey times will be extended by 1 hour whilst travelling by rail replacement transport, please leave extra time for your journey.
