Description
A safety inspection of the track between at Dewsbury means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between Leeds and Huddersfield / Brighouse via Dewsbury running towards Huddersfield / Brighouse may be cancelled, delayed or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 17:30.

What's happened?
Services between Leeds and Brighouse are currently being disrupted due to a safety inspection of the track near Ravensthorpe.
Network Rail are aware of this issue and are dispatching staff to site.
How does this affect my journey?
Train services are currently unable to run from Leeds towards Brighouse via Dewsbury (in this direction only).
Services in the direction towards Leeds are able to run normally; however, there may be some cancellations to trains due to displacement.
Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:
Between Leeds and Bradford Interchange via Dewsbury
Between Leeds and Wigan Wallgate - Services towards Wigan Wallgate will be diverted via Bradford Interchange
Northern services on the following routes are not affected:
Between York and Blackpool North
Between Leeds and Manchester Victoria / Chester
Between Hull and Halifax
What should I do?
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.
Customers travelling from intermediate stations between Leeds and Brighouse in the direction towards Manchester / Bradford Interchange may travel via Leeds on alternative Northern services at no extra cost.
Customers may also use the following operators at no extra cost:
TransPennine Express services between Leeds and Manchester Victoria
Grand Central services between Mirfield and Bradford Interchange
Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
Road transport:
Road transport has been requested between Leeds and Halifax in case disruption continues. More information will be provided once operators and timings have been confirmed.
Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
Journey times will be extended whilst travelling by road transport.
TransPennine Express customer advice:
Where possible, trains will use a diversionary route between Huddersfield and Leeds in both directions, extending the journey time by up to 20 minutes. Due to the diversion around the affected area, the following stations will not be served:

What should I do?
You should continue to travel as planned; however, your journey may be delayed.
Customers travelling from Dewsbury are advised road transport has been requested at 15:50 towards Huddersfield, where onward travel is available to customers.
Customers travelling to Dewsbury station, should travel to Huddersfield and alight to connect with a service back to Dewsbury. This line is currently open.
