Description

All lines have now reopened following the emergency services attending to an incident between Doncaster and Adwick. Whilst services recover, trains running between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate / Wakefield Kirkgate may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes, or revised.

This is expected until 09:00.

Please be aware there is disruption on other parts of the network between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle which may further impact your journey today.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston, Manchester and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

  • CrossCountry between Sheffield, Doncaster / Leeds, York and Newcastle / Edinburgh

  • Great Northern and Thameslink between London Kings Cross, Stevenage and Peterborough

  • Northern via any reasonable route

  • ScotRail between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh

  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York / Newcastle

Train services can run between Doncaster and Adwick in both directions. There may be some disruption to services as the train service returns to normal running.

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Customers at Doncaster wishing to travel to Leeds can do so by travelling to Sheffield or York where there are onwards train connections or Leeds and other destinations.

You can also travel on the following train operators and routes at no extra cost:

  • LNER services between Doncaster and York in both directions

  • TransPennine Express services Doncaster and Sheffield in both directions

  • CrossCountry services between:

    • Doncaster and Sheffield

    • Sheffield and Leeds

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
