Description

Following a points failure between Sheffield and New Mills Central / Stockport, all lines have now reopened. Whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Northern customer advice:

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

You can also travel on TransPennine Express services at no extra cost between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

You should continue to travel as planned, however your journey may be delayed.
