Description

The Met Office are advising that temperatures today are expected to be above average for the time of year. Temperatures are expected to exceed 30°C in London and various areas of southern England, and will remain high well into the week.

The forecast weather may cause trains to be disrupted. Heat can cause overhead lines to expand and sag, line-side fires and also rails to buckle.

East Midlands Railway are experiencing some heat related issues affecting some of their train services. This means that some units have had to be removed from service. As a result of this, trains on various routes across the East Midlands Railway network may be cancelled in full or revised.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

How do you get where you need to be?
