Description

The Met Office are advising that temperatures today are expected to be above average for the time of year.

Whilst heatwave conditions have ended, the temperatures forecast across many areas in England and Wales are still expected to surpass 25°C.

East Midlands Railway have been experiencing heat related issues affecting some of their train services. This means that some units have had to be removed from service for additional checks and maintenance. As a result of this, a slightly reduced timetable is in operation on some routes to help protect the wider network, maintain resilience and keep services running safely for passengers.

From Monday 20 July, a temporary reduced timetable will take affect on East Midlands Railway's Intercity routes.

You are advised to check your entire journey before you travel.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
