Lines reopened: disruption between Farringdon and London Bridge / Elephant & Castle expected until 15:00

Between Cambridge / Bedford and Brighton, between Luton and Rainham (Kent), between Peterborough and Horsham, and also between St Albans City and Sutton

Description

Following a fault on two trains between Farringdon and London Bridge / Elephant & Castle, all lines have reopened. Whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 15:00.

Customer advice:

Services that run via Farringdon have been significantly disrupted today. If you are planning to travel, please allow plenty of extra time to complete your journey. It is recommended you leave at least 60 minutes extra.

The following services are currently suspended, but are expected to start running again shortly:

• Trains that normally run between Bedford and Three Bridges

• Trains that normally run between St Albans City and Sutton

• Trains that normally run between Cambridge ad Brighton

Trains towards Bedford may be additionally delayed by a speed restriction in the Mill Hill Broadway area. This is due to a safety inspection of the track.

Tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on:

• East Midlands Railway services between London St Pancras International and Bedford

• Southern services from London Victoria to Sutton and Three Bridges

• London Underground services across London terminals

• London Buses between London St Pancras, London Bridge and Sutton, including via Wimbledon

• London Trams between Wimbledon and East Croydon

Travelling via an alternative route will take longer than usual. We recommend leaving at least 30 minutes more time to travel.

We've had two separate reports of train faults between London St Pancras and London Bridge earlier today.

Both trains have now been moved and this has reopened all lines for trains to run.
