Description

Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system between Southport and Freshfield.

Trains running between Southport and Formby may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised whilst service recovers.

Disruption is expected until 15:45.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement transport is in operation between Southport and Formby.

You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Northern between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan Wigan North Western, and also between Wigan Wallgate and Southport

  • Arriva bus routes 42 47 49 300

  • Stagecoach bus route X2
