Description

Overrunning engineering works between Purley and Gatwick Airport mean all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised.

This is expected until 05:00.

Customer advice:

Early morning Thameslink services which run through the Purley area will be disrupted.

If you are travelling before 5 am this morning, your journey may take up to 40 minutes longer than usual. You may need to travel later than normal or use an alternative route to reach your destination.

Overnight engineering work taking place between Purley and Gatwick Airport has taken longer than expected, and Network Rail teams on site have advised that it will take roughly an hour longer than planned. While this work is ongoing, all lines between Purley and Gatwick Airport are blocked, with no trains running between these stations.

Thameslink are working with Network Rail to ensure these are completed as soon as possible.
