Between Luton / West Hampstead Thameslink / Kentish Town and Rainham (Kent)

Description

A points failure at Rainham (Kent) means that all Thameslink trains will terminate / start back at Gillingham (Kent) instead. This incident is not impacting Southeastern trains.

With repairs to the points not taking place until the end of service, Thameslink services will be disrupted until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

A points failure at Rainham means that Thameslink trains cannot serve this station for the rest of the day.

Thameslink trains from Luton, London or Dartford towards Rainham will now finish their journeys at Gillingham, and return from there.

To help you with your journey, there is ticket acceptance in place so that you can use Thameslink or Southeastern interchangeably in the area (except High Speed services between Gravesend and London St Pancras International).

Please leave at least 20 minutes of extra time to use an alternative train to / from Rainham, and check departure times before travelling.

Planning your journey:

You can view the live departure boards, and also a live map of the network.

You can also use the Thameslink app to find up-to-date information.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A points failure at Rainham will not be resolved until tonight, so there will still be disruption in the area until Network Rail attend, and Thameslink trains cannot serve this station.

Check before you travel:

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
