Description

The emergency services have completed their work following an earlier incident where a person was hit by a train. This has allowed all lines in the Gillingham (Kent) area to reopen. Whilst service recovers, trains may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes, revised or cancelled.

Major disruption is expected until 13:00.

Thameslink services are no longer affected by this disruption.

What's happened?

The line has been reopened following a person being hit by a train earlier today.

How does this affect my journey?

Trains are now able to move through the area, but may be subject to delays and alterations whilst we work to get services back to normal working times and Gillingham.

What should I do?

You may still use your ticket in both directions at no extra charge on:

  • Arriva buses: between Rainham and Gillingham

  • Stagecoach: route X3 Maidstone and Sittingbourne, and routes between Canterbury East and Faversham

  • Fastrack B: between Gravesend and Ebbsfleet

  • London Underground: between our terminal stations

  • If you have a ticket from the Medway towns, you may travel on High Speed services

  • Elizabeth line services between Abbey Wood and Farringdon

  • Docklands Light Railway services between Woolwich Arsenal / Greenwich and Central London

  • London Buses between Dartford, Woolwich, Greenwich and Central London
