Description

A speed restriction over an embankment between Edenbridge and Godstone means trains will run to a reduced speed. As a result, trains between these stations will be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

This is expected until the end of the day on Sunday 13 December.

Customer advice:

Please allow up to 20 minutes of additional journey time in either direction while trains pass through the area at a reduced speed.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Following reports of a rough ride between Godstone and Edenbridge, Network Rail engineers inspected the track and identified an issue with a nearby embankment.

To keep journeys safe, Network Rail carried out further detailed assessments and developed a plan for repairs. This work involves strengthening the embankment, and is not expected to be complete until 13 December. Until these repairs are finished, a speed restriction will remain in place in both directions through the area.
