Description

Lines have reopened following a tree blocking the railway between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness earlier this morning. Trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised whilst normal service resumes.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Customer advice:

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Whilst road transport has been requested to operate between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness in both directions, due to operator availability this has been unsuccessful at this time.

Additional information:

The line from Lancaster towards Barrow-in-Furness was blocked by a fallen tree. This has now been removed and trains are returning to normal.
