Northern between Leeds and Harrogate / Knaresborough / York

Description

A road vehicle on the railway between Horsforth and Harrogate means all lines are closed whist the emergency services attend the incident. Trains running between Leeds and York may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Trains will not run between Horsforth and Harrogate.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

LNER are no longer affected by this disruption as their service through the area has ended.

Trains are able to run between Harrogate and York, and between Leeds and Horsforth only.

Rail replacement buses will operate as follows:

Horsforth – Harrogate

  • 20:25 operated by York Pullman & Phantom

  • 21:25 operated by Marios

  • 22:25 operated by RSZ

  • 23:25 operated by Phantom

  • 00:00 operated by Marios

Harrogate – Horsforth

  • 20:30 operated by Ross Travel &Phantom

  • 21:30 operated by York Pullman & RSZ

  • 22:30 operated by Marios

  • 23:30 operated by RSZ

Journey times will be extended by 30 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.

You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Alternative Northern services between Leeds and York via Micklefield. At Leeds, you can board a service to Horsforth. At York, you can board a service to Harrogate

  • TransPennine Express between Leeds and York

Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.
