Description
A trespass incident between Sunderland and Middlesbrough means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 11:00.
What's happened?
Services between Sunderland and Middlesbrough are currently being disrupted due to a trespass incident.
Emergency services staff are currently on site. Network Rail are due on site at 10:10.
How does this affect my journey?
Train services are unable to run between Sunderland and Hartlepool (in both directions).
Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:
Between Carlisle and Middlesbrough / Nunthorpe
Between Newcastle and Middlesbrough / Whitby
Northern services between Bishop Auckland / Darlington and Saltburn are not affected.

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
Road transport:
Road transport has been requested in case disruption continues. More information will be provided once operators and timings have been confirmed.
