Description

A trespass incident at Hartlepool means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running to / from and through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 50 minutes, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 15:00.

Train services are unable to run between Newcastle - Middlesbrough (in both directions).

What should I do?

Trains from Newcastle towards Middlesbrough will divert via Darlington where possible and will call at Thornaby only.

Trains from Middlesbrough towards Newcastle will divert via Darlington where possible and will call at Thornaby only.

Northern train tickets will be accepted on Tyne & Wear Metro services between Newcastle - Sunderland, in both directions.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Replacement transport:

Road transport will be operated by Northstar & E Travel as follows:

  • From Newcastle - Middlesbrough, calling at all stops at 13:30

  • From Middlebrough - Newcastle. calling at all stop at 13:30

Network Rail staff and British Transport Police officers are on site.
