Trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour

Description

Following an earlier points failure at Haslemere, all lines have now reopened. Whilst services recover, trains between Guildford and Petersfield may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Response teams are on site and working to return services to normal as quickly as possible.

The following alterations may still apply while the service recovers. Please be aware that some trains may continue to start or terminate short, and some services may be cancelled at short notice.

Long distance and mainline services:

Services between London Waterloo, Woking and Portsmouth stations are expected to be delayed, revised to be diverted between Woking and Hilsea via Eastleigh or will be cancelled.

How do I get to my destination?

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • Great Western Railway services between Guildford and Wokingham for onward South Western Railway connections to London Waterloo and between Guildford and Redhill for onward Southern connections to Clapham Junction and London Victoria

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading / Basingstoke

  • Southern services between Epsom, Dorking, Redhill and Clapham Junction / London Victoria. You can take a South Western Railway service from Guildford to Epsom to join Southern services to Clapham Junction and London Victoria

  • Southern services between London Victoria / Clapham Junction and Portsmouth Harbour / Southampton Central

Because your journey has been heavily disrupted, you can book your own taxi and claim the cost back through the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Guildford and Havant. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

  • Your full contact details

  • The time and date of your journey

  • The stations you travelled to and from

  • A detailed description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt
