Description

Following emergency services dealing with an incident between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport, all lines are now open. Trains running between these stations may still be revised, cancelled or delayed up to 30 minutes.

Disruption expected until 15:30.

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on the following alternatives:

  • Avanti West Coast from Preston to Edinburgh / Glasgow until 16:00

  • TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Newcastle and also between Newcastle and Manchester

  • ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow

  • Northern services between Stalybridge and Manchester Victoria and also between Oxenholme Lake District and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions

If you need to travel between the main stations in Manchester city centre, there are several alternative options available:

  • Bee Network Free Bus – this free service runs every 10 minutes, with stops conveniently located on the station approach at both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria

  • Metrolink Tram services between Manchester Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

  • If you are able to it's approximately a 20-minute walk between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly, which is approximately a mile.
