Description

A problem with the station lighting at Heren Hill means some lines are disrupted. Trains calling at the station may be revised to run non stop.

Disruption is expected until 22:30.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling to or from Herne Hill in the direction towards St Albans City you will need to travel via an alternative route and allow at least 15 minutes more time to travel.

If you are travelling on a train towards St Albans City, and you want to alight at Herne Hill, please continue to Loughborough Junction and change there for a service in the opposite direction.

If you are travelling from Herne Hill towards St Albans City, please travel in the opposite direction to Tulse Hill first, and change for a train to your destination.

Please talk to station staff, look at information boards or check your journey planner for the latest information.

Planning your journey:

For help planning your journey, check live departure boards, view a live network map or see alternative route guides.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A lighting issue at Herne Hill station means trains cannot stop on platforms 1 and 2 until further notice.

Because the platform is in darkness, it is unsafe for trains to call and for customers to board or alight. Platforms 3 and 4 remain powered and operational, which is why Sutton-bound services can call as normal.

Station maintenance teams are working to restore the lighting as quickly as possible.

Check before you travel:

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
