Between Stevenage / Hertford North and Moorgate

Description

A safety inspection of the track between Hertford North and Alexandra Palace means that trains have to run at a reduced speed on the line towards Moorgate. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 12:00.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling between Hertford North and Alexandra Palace in the direction towards Moorgate, you may need to use an alternative service to complete your journey.

Your journey may take longer than normal and you should allow an additional 30 minutes extra to reach your destination.

Travel Advice:

  • Services between Hertford North, London Kings Cross/Moorgate have been suspended

  • Services between Gordon Hill and London Kings Cross/Moorgate have been also been suspended

  • Services between Moorgate and Stevenage in the direction towards Hertford North will run as booked. In the opposite direction towards London, services from Stevenage will divert via Welwyn Garden City


If you are travelling via London Liverpool Street, your ticket will be accepted on London Underground services where you can travel to London Kings Cross / London St Pancras International for Thameslink and Great Northern services towards your destination.

For stations between Enfield Chase and London, your ticket will be be accepted on alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services. You ticket is also being accepted for use on London Buses between Crews Hill and London.

Alternatively, ticket will be accepted at no extra cost for journeys on the Piccadilly line between Cockfosters and London. You may also travel on London Overground services from Enfield Town into London Liverpool Street.

  • Alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services between Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, London Kings Cross and Moorgate

  • Greater Anglia services between Hertford East and London Liverpool Street

  • London Buses between Crews Hill and Moorgate

  • London Underground between all London Terminals including Piccadilly line towards Cockfosters

  • London Overground between Enfield Town / Cheshunt and London Liverpool Street

There has been a report of a possible issue with the track in this area. Network Rail's engineers will be attending as soon as possible to carry out a detailed inspection.
