Description

All lines towards Hertford North have now reopened following a broken down freight train between Alexandra Palace and Hertford North. As service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be delayed or revised.

This is expected until 06:30.

Customer advice:

Trains can now run between Alexandra Palace and Hertford North again. You can now travel on your normal route.

Work is being done to return to the scheduled timetable, but please continue to check journey planners and station information boards before you travel.

Some trains in the area will still be disrupted, and your journey may take up to at least 20 minutes longer than usual.

Will my ticket still be accepted by another operator?

You can still travel on the following services at no additional cost:

  • Alternative Great Northern services between London Kings Cross, Moorgate and Stevenage

  • Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Hertford East

  • London Buses between London St Pancras International and Crews Hill

  • London Underground between all London terminals

  • Thameslink services between London St Pancras International and Stevenage

Unfortunately, a freight service has developed a fault. The nature of the issue means it can't move, so it's blocking the line through this area towards Hertford North.

The train has now been rescued and we are working to restore thetimetable to the booked time.
