Description
Lines have reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Huyton and Earlestown earlier this morning. As services recover, trains running through these stations will continue to be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.
Disruption is expected until 11:00.
Northern customer advice:
Road replacement transport will operate as follows:
x1 full size bus will depart Manchester Piccadilly 09:00 calling all stops to Huyton, operated by Bentleys
x1 full size bus will depart Huyton 09:15 calling all stops to Manchester Piccadilly, operated by Atlantic Travel
x1 full size bus will depart St Helens Junction 09:15 calling all stops to Manchester Piccadilly then as required to Manchester Airport
x1 full size bus will depart Earlestown 09:15 calling all stops to Huyton then as required to Liverpool Lime Street
Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycle’s, e-bikes and dogs (exc. service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
Northern tickets may be used at no additional cost on board Transport For Wales services between Earlestown and Manchester Airport in both directions until 11:00.
Customers may also use alternative Northern services towards Wigan / Preston for connecting Northern services towards Manchester and Liverpool.
