Description
A points failure in the Huyton area means some lines are blocked. Trains running between Liverpool Lime Street and Huyton may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, revised or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 16:30.
Network Rail are on site now and investigating the problem.
Northern customer advice:
Customers requiring stations to / from Manchester can use alternative Northern, TransPennine Express or East Midlands Railway services via Warrington Central, at no extra cost. Please note these services operate with a different calling pattern.
Customers requiring stations to / from Newton-le-Willow can board alternative Northern services to Manchester Victoria.
Customers requiring stations to / from Blackpool North can travel via Manchester stations.
You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on Avanti West Coast services between Wigan North Western and Preston.
Customers traveling between Greater Manchester train stations can use the free TfGM buses that links all major stations.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
Replacement transport:
An availability check has been placed for replacement road transport at Liverpool Lime Street.
TransPennine Express customer advice:
Services departing Liverpool Lime Street will divert via Warrington Central where possible and call at Manchester Piccadilly additional - Lea Green, Newton-Le-Willows and Manchester Victoria will NOT be served.
Customers for these stations are advised to depart at Manchester Piccadilly where you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:
