Trains between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head

Description

More trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head means fewer trains are able to run on the Island Line.

Disruption is expected until 09:00 on Tuesday 17 February.

Services today are unaffected.

Customer advice:

Only one train an hour will be able to run between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin up until about 09:00.

As a result, the following trains have had to be cancelled:

  • 05:23 Ryde St Johns Road – Ryde Pier Head

  • 06:03 Ryde Pier Head – Shanklin

  • 06:51 Shanklin - Ryde Pier Head

  • 07:26 Ryde Pier Head – Shanklin


The 08:07 Shanklin - Ryde Pier Head will be started from Ryde St Johns Road at 08:28 where the service will return to normal.

A rail road replacement minibus has been requested to shuttle between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin to cover the gaps in the service. This will not run to a timetable however, it will depart Ryde St Johns Road at about 05:15 travelling to Ryde Pier Head and then will shuttle between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin to follow as closely as it can the train timetable it is replacing.
