Description

Attempted theft of signalling cables between Doncaster and Scunthorpe / Goole means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, diverted or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Northern customer advice:

Fewer train services than normal are able to run between Doncaster and Goole / Hull in both directions.

Services between Doncaster and Hull may divert via Selby and via an alternative route and will be revised to no longer call at Kirk Sandall.

What should I do?

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advanced restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Rail replacement transport has been requested to operate between Doncaster and Hatfield & Stainforth, calling at Kirk Sandall.

TransPennine Express customer advice:

If you are travelling towards Cleethorpes

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available Northern service from Sheffield towards Doncaster.

Rail replacement transport has been requested to run from Doncaster towards Scunthorpe.

At Scunthorpe, train services will resume towards Cleethorpes.

If you are travelling towards Liverpool Lime Street

Rail replacement transport has been requested to run from Scunthorpe towards Doncaster.

At Doncaster, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available Northern service towards Sheffield.

At Sheffield, please see a member of station staff for onward travel advice if you are travelling towards Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street.
