ScotRail services in the Newton area

Description

A broken down train at Larkhall means some lines in the Newton area are disrupted. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Additional Information:

Dalmuir to Larkhall will terminate and originate at Rutherglen.

Dalmuir to Motherwell via Hamilton will divert and run non stop between Rutherglen and Motherwell.

Glasgow Central and Newton service subject to delay and alteration.

Customer advice:

You may use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost:

  • Whitelaw’s coaches between Motherwell and Hamilton / Larkhall in both directions

  • JMB Buses between Hamilton and Lanark on bus number 41 at the following stops:

    • Lanark Bus Station

    • Carluke - Orchard Street

    • Wishaw - Russell Street

    • Shieldmuir - John Street

    • Motherwell - Motherwell Library

    • Hamilton Bus Station

Just show your valid ticket or Smart card to the driver when boarding the bus.

You can use your ticket, at no additional cost, on ScotRail services via any alternative route to your destination.

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

ScotRail have requested rail replacement transport to shuttle between Rutherglen and Motherwell calling at stations via Hamilton. One bus is confirmed at Motherwell at 07:05 provided by Blue Bus.
