Description
Lines have reopened following a safety inspection on a train between Preston and Bolton via Chorley.
As services recover, trains running through these stations may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 35 minutes as a result.
Disruption is expected until 11:00.
Customer advice:
Services are now able to call at all stations between Preston and Bolton via Chorley, in both directions. However, trains on the following routes may still be subject to short notice delays and cancellations:
Blackpool North to Manchester Airport
Barrow-in-Furness to Manchester Airport
Windermere to Manchester Airport
The first service able to call at all stations between Preston and Bolton will be the 08:23 Blackpool North to Manchester Airport.
Rail replacement transport:
Rail replacement road transport departed Buckshaw Parkway at 09:10 and will be calling at Chorley, Adlington (Lancashire), Blackrod, Horwich Parkway, Lostock and Bolton.
Please note that journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.
