Description

Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system at Lichfield Trent Valley. Whilst service recovers, trains running between Nuneaton and Stafford / Stoke-on-Trent may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following:

  • CrossCountry services between:

    • Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton in both directions

    • Birmingham New Street and Tamworth in both directions

    • Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions

  • London Northwestern Railway services between:

    • London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street via Birmingham New Street in both directions

    • London Euston and Crewe in both directions

  • TransPennine Express services between:

    • Manchester Piccadilly and Reston

    • Preston and Edinburgh

    • Preston and Glasgow Central

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

Customers travelling south from Crewe towards London Euston are advised to change at Stafford for trains to Rugby, Milton Keynes Central and London Euston. Customers can board Avanti West Coast or London Northwestern Railway services from Stafford towards Birmingham New Street and London Euston.

Customers travelling north from London Euston towards Crewe should board their train as planned, however, this is likely experience delays in the Lichfield Trent Valley area.

Tickets marked London Northwestern Railway only can be used on Avanti West Coast services between Stafford and London Euston via Birmingham New Street.

Customers utilising rail replacement buses to Rugby can also use their tickets to board Avanti West Coast services to London Euston from Rugby.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on Avanti West Coast services between Stafford and London Euston via Birmingham New Street in that direction only until 14:00 today.
