Description

There is an fault with the signalling system in the Cardiff Central area that is disrupting services running between Cardiff Central and Radyr on the line via Llandaf.

As a result, services running between Cardiff Central and Treherbert will be revised to no longer call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays and Llandaf. Some trains operating between these stations via Llandaf may also be diverted to instead run on the line via Fairwater. Where this is the case, journey times will be extended.

Those trains that do operate may also be subject to minor delays.

This is expected to be the case for the rest of the day today.

Customer advice:

To assist you with your journey, you can use Cardiff bus routes 24 and 25 between Cardiff and Llandaf, at no extra cost all day today. Please note, pay as you go cannot be used on local bus operators.

If you decide not to travel because of this disruption and your ticket is unused, you can obtain a fee free refund from wherever you purchased your ticket.

Pay as you go customers:

If all or part of your journey requires a rail replacement bus, please tap in at your origin station and tap out at your destination. You can add any missing taps using the Transport for Wales app or website.

Pay as you go is only valid on Transport for Wales and CrossCountry services, even where it is stated that you can use your original ticket at no extra cost with other train operators or local bus operators. If you travel with another operator or on a local bus service, you must first tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in and buy an alternative ticket before boarding.
