Description

All lines have reopened following a fire next to the track between Lockerbie and Carlisle. However, as service recovers, trains between Edinburgh / Motherwell and Carlisle may still be delayed by up to 120 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

TransPennine Express customer advice:

You should continue to travel as planned, however, your journey may be delayed up to 120 minutes.

To help you complete your journey, rail replacement transport has been requested to run between:

  • Carstairs and Manchester Airport

Please see station information posters for the location of rail replacement pick up points and be advised that journey times may be extended by 90 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.

Check before you travel:
