Due to a points failure between Lockerbie and Carstairs all lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 16:15.

Engineers are aware of the fault and are sending a team to site to resolve the issue.

While work is being carried out to resolve the issue, the following routes may be delayed or cancelled at short notice:

• Any TransPennine Express service between Preston and Manchester

• Northern services between Preston and Manchester Airport calling at Bolton, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport
