Description

A fault with the signalling system between Lockerbie and Carstairs is causing disruption to journeys running between these stations. Trains may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 90 minutes between Carlisle and Motherwell / Edinburgh.

We expect this to continue until the end of the day.

Advice for Avanti West Coast customers:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

Advice for TransPennine Express customers:

You may use your tickets on the following operators at no extra cost:

• Avanti West Coast services between Preston and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

• Northern services between:

  • Manchester and Liverpool

  • Liverpool and Wigan North Western / Preston

  • between Oxenholme Lake District and Manchester Airport

• ScotRail services between Carlisle and Glasgow Central

There is an alternative route via the East Coast Main Line, your ticket will be accepted on the following operators at no extra cost:

• Alternative TransPennine Express services between Manchester and Newcastle / Edinburgh

• Northern services:

  • between Manchester and Leeds

  • between Carlisle and Newcastle

• LNER services between Edinburgh and York
