Description

All lines have now reopened following an earlier fault on a train between Carlisle and Lockerbie. Services through these stations may continue to be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 21:30.

Southbound:

If you are travelling from Glasgow Central and Edinburgh towards Manchester and Liverpool Lime Street, you can travel via the East Coast Mainline. Your ticket can be used on the following, in both directions, at no extra cost:

• ScotRail between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh

• TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Newcastle

• LNER and CrossCountry services between Edinburgh and York

• TransPennine Express services between York, Manchester Stations and Liverpool Lime Street

• Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

If you are travelling from Carlisle towards Manchester, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following routes:

• Avanti West Coast services between Carlisle and Preston calling at Oxenholme Lake District, Lancaster and Preston

• TransPennine Express services between Carlisle and Manchester Airport calling at Penrith, Oxenholme Lake District, Lancaster, Preston, Bolton, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

• Northern services between Preston and Manchester Airport calling at Bolton, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

If you are travelling from Carlisle towards Liverpool Lime Street, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following routes:

• Avanti West Coast services between Carlisle and Wigan North Western calling at Oxenholme Lake District, Lancaster and Preston

• Northern Services between Wigan North Western and Liverpool Lime Street calling at St Helens Central

• TransPennine Express services between Wigan North Western and Liverpool Lime Street calling at St Helens Central

Northbound:

If you are travelling from Manchester, Bolton or Liverpool Lime Street towards Edinburgh and Glasgow Central, you can travel via the East Coast Mainline. TransPennine Express have arranged for you to use your ticket at no extra cost in both directions:

• Northern between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly. If you are travelling from Bolton, please board Northern services between Bolton and Manchester Piccadilly

• TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Piccadilly and York

• LNER and CrossCountry services between York and Edinburgh

• ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central
