Description

Following the police dealing with an earlier incident in the Farringdon area, lines between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars have reopened.

As services return to normal, trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Trains can now begin to run between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars.

Thameslink are working to return to their scheduled timetable, but please continue to check journey planners and station information boards before you travel. Trains in the area will still be disrupted, and your journey may take at least 30 minutes longer than usual.

Trains directly affected by this incident may be subject to short-notice amendments.

You can still use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on:

  • Thameslink services on routes through central London

  • London Buses on routes between Elstree & Borehamwood, central London, and Croydon

  • London Underground on routes between London Terminals

Please note that if you have not yet started your journey, it may now be faster to wait for the next available train.

If you can't get all the way to your destination tonight:

Operators won't leave you stranded. Please travel as far as you can towards your destination, either by train or by using an alternative route.

When you've travelled as far as possible, please speak to station staff, where available.

If there are no staff, you can use the green Emergency button on the station Help Point at stations run by Southern, Thameslink or Great Northern. At stations run by other train companies, please use the Information button on the Help Point; the message will be passed through to staff.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Earlier today, the police attended to an incident in the Farringdon area. While this was ongoing, no trains could run between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars for safety reasons. The incident has now been resolved, and trains can begin to run on their booked routes, although services may be subject to delays and alterations while Thameslink try to return to their booked timetable.
