Customer advice:

A signalling fault means that fewer trains than normal can serve London Victoria this morning. Your journey will be affected by delays, cancellations, and alterations.

If you're travelling this morning, you will need to leave a minimum of 30 minutes extra to complete your journey.

You may need to travel on a different train or normal, or change trains at an intermediate station to reach your destination.

For the latest information, you should listen to announcements, check station screens, and consult journey planners.

Travel advice

Gatwick Express services which run between London Victoria, Gatwick Airport and Brighton are suspended. You should travel on alternative Southern or Thameslink services along this route. You may need to change trains at an intermediate station, such as East Croydon or Haywards Heath, to complete your journey, or use London Underground if you travel via a different London station to normal.

A reduced service will run between London, Sutton and Epsom, as services which usually start from, or terminate at Epsom, are suspended. You should travel on a different Southern service to normal, or travel on South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Epsom, changing at London Waterloo, Clapham Junction or Wimbledon for Thameslink, alternative Southern, or London Underground services towards your destination.

A reduced service will run between London Victoria and East Croydon, as services which usually start from, or terminate at, East Croydon, are suspended. You should travel on a different Southern service for London Victoria, or travel on Thameslink services for central London stations, where your ticket will be accepted on London Underground services towards your destination.

Ticket acceptance

Your ticket will be accepted on the below at no additional cost:

  • Alternative Southern services in the London area, and between London and the south coast

  • Thameslink services between central London stations, Sutton / Brighton

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A fault with the signalling system means that a set of points is currently unavailable to run normally on one of the lines out of London Victoria. As a result, fewer platforms than normal are available, and there will be a reduced service in to London Victoria this morning.

Network Rail engineers are on site, and working on rectifying the issue, so that we can return to normal train running as quickly as possible.

Ticket flexibility:

If your train is cancelled, you will be able to travel on an alternative service operated by any other participating train company, either two hours before or two hours after the original departure time of the cancelled service, in order to reach your destination.

If you decide not to travel or cannot complete your journey due to cancellations, you are entitled to a full refund from your original point of sale.

For further information and guidance please contact your train company or speak to a member of railway staff.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
