Description
Following a safety inspection of the track between Gloucester and Chepstow all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes, diverted via Severn Tunnel Junction or revised.
Disruption is expected until 12:00.
Transport for Wales customer advice:
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on Great Western Railway services between Gloucester and Cardiff Central via Bristol Parkway.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
Rail replacement transport
Transport for Wales have organised a bus to run between Gloucester and Lydney to help you complete your journey at no extra cost, This will depart Lydney at approximately 10:00 and are provided by Star Coaches.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
Pay as you go customers
If all or part of your journey requires a rail replacement bus, please tap in at your origin station and tap out at your destination. If you need to tap out at a gateline after travelling on a rail replacement bus, our station colleagues can assist. You can also add any missing taps using our app or website.
Pay as you go is only valid on Transport for Wales and CrossCountry services, even where we state you can use your original ticket at no extra cost with other train operators or local bus operators. If you travel with another operator or on a local bus service, you must first tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in and buy an alternative ticket before boarding.
