Description

Lines have now reopened following a points failure at Manchester Airport. However, whilst service recovers, trains running to / from this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 22:30.

Northern customer advice:

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on Metrolink via any reasonable route.

To assist customers to complete their journey, road transport has been provided between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport as follows -

  • 21:00 Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly calling at Heald Green, Gatley, East Didsbury, Burnage, Mauldeth Road and Manchester Piccadilly

  • 21:00 Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport calling at Mauldeth Road, Burnage, East Didsbury, Gatley, Heald Green and Manchester Airport

Journey times will be extended by 60 minutes whilst travelling by Rail replacement transport.
