Description

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport, resulting in all lines being closed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, severely delayed or diverted.

Major disruption is expected until 15:00.

You can travel on the following train operators and routes at no extra cost:

• TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route

• Avanti West Coast services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe

• Transport for Wales services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe

You can also use your tickets at no extra cost on board the following Bee Network services:

• Metrolink tram services via any reasonable route

• Bee Network Bus services 43, 103, 248, 313, 368 and 50

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

At 15:00 from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly, calling at Heald Green, Gatley, East Didsbury, Burnage, Mauldeth Road & Manchester Piccadilly - Operated by First Choice Coaches

At 15:30 from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport, calling at Mauldeth Road, Burnage, East Didsbury, Gatley, Heald Green & Manchester Airport - Operated by S Line

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.

• 313 Stockport - Adswood - Cheadle Hulme - Manchester Airport

• 368 Manchester Airport - Cheadle Hulme - Edgeley - Stockport

Due to the current disruption, if you need to travel between the main stations in Manchester city centre, there are several alternative options available:

• Bee Network Free Bus – this free service runs every 10 minutes, with stops conveniently located on the station approach at both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria

• You can use your ticket at no extra cost on Metrolink tram services – regular tram services operate between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

• Walking – it’s approximately a 20-minute walk between the two stations
