Description
Storm Amy is expected to bring very strong winds and heavy rain to many parts of Scotland, England and Wales until the end of the day.
Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.
Network Rail’s specialist weather team are closely monitoring the storm’s path and working with operators to confirm which routes are most likely to be impacted.
Customer advice:
Services on the following routes are subject to delays and short notice cancellations in both directions:
A fallen tree blocking the tracks between Formby and Freshfield means the Southport line is disrupted. Trains are currently suspended between Formby and Southport. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on Stagecoach and Arriva bus services via any reasonable route until 12:00. A very limited rail replacement road transport has been requested run between Formby and Southport. Disruption is expected until 12:00.
A fallen tree blocking the tracks at Walton Merseyside means the Ormskirk / Headbolt Lane line is disrupted. Trains are currently suspended between Town Green and Ormskirk. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on Stagecoach and Arriva bus services via any reasonable route until 12:00. Merseyrail are looking to source a rail replacement bus service, but this is not yet in place and is likely to be very limited. Disruption is expected until 12:30.
