Description

A points failure near Metro Centre means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Newcastle and Hexham may be revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Newcastle to Metro Centre services will be cancelled, Hexham and Carlisle services in both directions will be delayed while repairs are made.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.
