Description

Theft of signalling cables between Sheffield and Doncaster means some lines are blocked. Trains are now running at a reduced speed between these stations.

Whilst Network Rail staff remain on site, trains may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services in both directions:

• Any TransPennine Express service between Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester and Leeds, where you can then travel on a LNER or Northern service between Leeds and Doncaster to connect with a train service towards Cleethorpes

• CrossCountry services between Sheffield and Leeds to connect with LNER or Northern services between Leeds and Doncaster

• From Doncaster, board the next TransPennine Express service towards Cleethorpes

• East Midlands Railway services between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield

• Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield
