Description

A safety inspection of the track is taking place at Middlesbrough. This has closed some lines at this station.

As a result, trains running to, from and through this station may be cancelled or revised.

This is expected until 11:00.

Northern customer advice:

You should check your journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including advance and peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Replacement transport:

Road transport is not currently required, however should the situation worsen, then road transport operators will be sourced and details of bus journeys will be advertised.

You can also use your ticket at no extra cost to travel on the following services travelling in any direction:

  • CrossCountry services between Darlington and York

  • LNER services between Darlington and York

  • Northern services between Redcar Central and Darlington - please note, Northern services are also affected by this disruption

  • TransPennine Express services between Darlington and Manchester stations

If you are at York, you are advised to travel up to Darlington to connect to Northern services between Darlington and Redcar Central.

If you are travelling to / from Yarm, you can travel via Eaglescliffe on Northern services between Darlington and Redcar Central in both directions at no extra cost.

Alternatively, a member of staff can be contacted via the station help point at Yarm for assistance with alternative travel arrangements.
