Description

Urgent repairs to the track in the Mirfield area mean all lines will be closed from the start of the day on Tuesday 28 July until 06:00. Trains running between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly / York will be cancelled or revised.

Due to urgent repairs to the track at Mirfield, all lines will be closed from 00:00 and 06:00 on Tuesday 28 July.

How does this affect my journey?

TransPennine Express services which operate overnight between Manchester and York, will be unable to do so. These will be cancelled, please see below for specific travel advice for your service. Please note, this disruption may also affect services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.

What should I do?

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any LNER, Northern and TransPennine Express, service within the two hours before or after your cancelled service.

If you require any connecting services, please check information screens or speak to a member of staff.

00:38 service from Manchester Airport to York:

This train will be cancelled. To help you complete your journey, rail replacement transport has been requested to run between Manchester Airport and York. Please see station information posters for the location of rail replacement pick up points and be advised that journey times may be extended by 90 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.

02:00 service from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport

This train will be cancelled. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the 03:00 TransPennine Express service from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport.

02:28 service from Manchester Airport to York

This train will be cancelled. To help you complete your journey, rail replacement transport has been requested to run between Manchester Airport and York. Please see station information posters for the location of rail replacement pick up points and be advised that journey times may be extended by 90 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.

05:02 service from York to Manchester Airport

This train will be started from Manchester Victoria. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the 06:17 TransPennine Express service from York to Manchester Airport.
