Trains between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly

Description

A points failure between Chester and Stockport means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains are unable to run between these stations and will be revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 16:00.

Customer advice:

Network Rail are aware of the fault and engineers are on site.

Rail replacement transport will operate as follows:

  • From Chester calling at all stations to Manchester Piccadilly (operated by S-Line Travel)

  • From Stockport calling at all stations to Chester (operated by Atlantic Travel)

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.

Northern tickets may be used at no additional costs on Transport for Wales services between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly via Warrington Bank Quay, in both directions.

Northern tickets may also be used at no additional costs on Manchester Metrolink services between Altrincham and Manchester Piccadilly, in both directions.
