Description
Following a train hitting an obstruction on the line at New Cross all lines have now reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 11:00.
What's happened?
A train struck an obstruction earlier today in the New Cross area, causing the train to come to a halt. This blocked one of the lines that services from London Charing Cross use travelling away from central London.
Response staff have attended and inspected the train; no damage has been found and the train is now on the move, with all lines from London Bridge available.
How does this affect my journey?
Cancellations:
Services that terminate / start at Tunbridge Wells
All-station services between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks will run between Orpington and Sevenoaks only
Services towards London Bridge from Bexleyheath or Woolwich will not call at St Johns or New Cross
Diversions:
Services between Ashford and London Charing Cross via Maidstone East will be diverted to/from London Victoria
Services via the Medway Towns to London Cannon Street will be diverted to London Victoria
Other services to/from London Charing Cross will be delayed, and may be altered or cancelled.
