Trains between Glasgow Central and Carlisle

Description

A road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Kilmarnock and New Cumnock means all lines are closed. As a result, trains between Kilmarnock and Carlisle will be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following service:

  • Alternative ScotRail services via any reasonable route

  • Avanti West Coast between Glasgow Central and Carlisle

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

16:12 Glasgow Central to Carlisle passengers are advised to travel to Kilmarnock where ScotRail have a Westway bus departing at 17:00 calling all stations to Dumfries.

The 16:08 Carlisle - Glasgow will terminate at New Cumnock passengers travelling north of New Cumnock please alight at Dumfries. ScotRail have organised rail replacement transport at Dumfries operated by BC Travel to depart at approximately 17:30 / 18:00 all stops to Kilmarnock.

Due to very limited replacement transport being secured, passengers are advised to consider making their own alternative arrangements.
